Calling all Girl Scouts! Are you ready to learn about how the City of Orlando treats and recycles water?
Every day in Orlando, over 40 million gallons of sewer water is treated and cleaned. This process allows us to actually be able to use the water again for things like irrigation and to replenish the Floridan aquifer, which is the main source of drinking water for Central Florida!
The City of Orlando Water Reclamation Division is hosting this event for Girl Scouts to:
- Learn about the process of treating and recycling water
- Get a behind-the-scenes look at the water treatment facility
- Participate in hands-on experiments being conducted on water
- Learn about the cycle of water use in Florida
By the end of this program, you'll have a new understanding of our water system and what you can do to help!

- Time: 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

- Program Level: All Girl Scout Levels
- Location: Water Reclamation Education Center
- Program Fee: Free
- Registration Deadline: February 22nd, 2026, or when program is full
Important Information:
- All participants must be registered for the event this includes all girls and adult chaperones
- Please adhere to the adult/girl ratio when attending events. This can be found in Volunteer Essentials or Safety Activity Checkpoints located on our website.
- Everyone must wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes and should bring a refillable water bottle
- No walk-ups or Tagalongs are permitted.
Cancellation and Refunds:
- All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email and sent directly to CustomerCare@citrus-gs.org by February 22nd at 11:59pm.
- There will be no refunds or transfers for no-shows.
Confirmation:
A confirmation with final details will be emailed to you after registration closes. This confirmation will include the location address and information regarding day of program. Please look over this confirmation and familiarize yourself with the process on the day you receive it.
