Girl Scouts of Citrus Council’s number one priority is the safety and well-being of our members, their families, and our council staff.
As always, we follow the guidance from GSUSA and other agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Health (DOH), World Health Organization (WHO), American Camping Association (ACA) and other local and state guidance. Pandemic protocols and recommendations vary based on the current community levels.
Please check here for the most up-to-date information regarding our guidelines as they can change suddenly depending on the current situation.
As of July 21, 2022 the COVID Community Level for all 6 of our communities is HIGH. This means that masks should be worn indoors in public and on public transportation. Social distancing is still recommended indoors when in large gatherings when possible. Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider taking additional precautions. The levels are updated on the CDC weekly and can change based on the cases.
When visiting other locations, such as: schools, churches, community partners, etc.:
While the CDC has approved vaccinations for those individuals that are at least 5 years of age or older, it is not mandatory to receive the vaccine to participate in Girl Scout activities and each person’s vaccination status is their choice. We encourage everyone to follow whatever safety measures you feel comfortable with to protect yourself, your family, and the community.
For all activities, camping, travel etc. Please refer to the Forms tab on our website for all updated information and guidance.
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact. Each troop/family should weigh their participation based on their own, as well as family members health concerns. As with any social activity, participation in Girl Scouts could present the risk of contracting COVID-19. While Girl Scouts of Citrus takes every safety and preventative precaution, Girl Scouts of Citrus can in no way warrant that COVID-19 infection will not occur through participation in council programs. Please refer to the CDC guidelines for: Guidelines for Groups at Risk
All adults, parents, and/or guardians understand that it is their responsibility to be aware of the current guidelines from the CDC, GSC and other governing bodies. When participating in any Girl Scout activity, all adults, parents and/or guardians accept full responsibility for their own decisions and/or their own child’s decision regarding safety protocols and exposure to COVID-19 risks, this includes but is not limited to choosing not to wear a mask or practice social distancing regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status. Please refer to the CDC guidelines for: Group Gatherings
Currently we are no longer requiring a pre-screening form for general activities.
We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust activities as recommended by GSUSA, the CDC and the local Health Department.
