Mia Poinsette is President & CEO of the Poinsette Foundation, a self-funded family initiative advancing Wraparound Philanthropy™ and direct-to-youth grantmaking to close learning and opportunity gaps for K–12 students across Central Florida. Under her leadership, the Foundation has invested nearly $500,000 through more than 100 strategic partnerships in Orange and Osceola Counties.
Mia is a third-generation Girl Scout who credits the organization for planting her early seeds of leadership, entrepreneurship and community involvement.
A respected civic and nonprofit leader, Mia serves in multiple board and advisory roles across the region. Her leadership has earned both local and national recognition, including being named a 2026 Orlando Business Journal Woman Who Means Business, a 2025 Orlando Magazine Woman of the Year, is the recipient of Heart of Florida United Way’s 2024 Change Maker: Women United Impact Award and Women’s Executive Council’s 2023 Central Florida Influencer Award. She has also received the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden, and her biography has been entered into the U.S. Congressional Record.
A proud wife and mother of two, Mia holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, is currently pursuing a graduate program at Harvard University, and is a dedicated violinist and traveler.
