Join Girl Scouts of Citrus and the City of Orlando as we learn all about Animal Habitats. Juniors will explore Bill Fredrick Park, as they learn all about the gopher tortoise. Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to become a gopher tortoise, entering a burrow, learn about how to protect the species from decline, as well as develop campaigns to protect the gopher tortoise.
- Date: Saturday October 10th 2026
- Time: 9am-11am
- Location: Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake
- Program Level: Juniors
- Girl Program Fee: $3.50
- Materials for the program are provided by Bill Frederick Park Nature Programs Team free of charge. $3.50 is collected to cover the cost of the badge Girl Scouts will receive at the end of the program
- Adult Program Fee: $0
- Adults are needed to cover supervision of girls during the program
- Registration Deadline: October 4th 2026 at 11:59pm or when program is full
Important Information:
- All participants must be registered for the event, including girls and adult chaperones.
- Please adhere to adult/girl ratio when attending events. This can be found in the Volunteer Essentials or Safety Activity Checkpoints, located on our website.
- Everyone must wear closed-toed and closed-heel shoes and should bring a refillable water bottle.
- When you come through the park gate, let the staff know that you are there for the Girl Scout program.
- Hats and sunscreen are highly recommended.
- No walk ups or tagalongs are permitted.
Cancellation and Refunds:
- All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email and sent directly to customercare@citrus-gs.org by October 4th 2026 at 11:59pm.
- There will be no refunds or transfers for no shows.
Confirmation:
- A confirmation with final details will be emailed to you after registration closes. This confirmation will include the location address and information regarding day of program. Please look over this confirmation and familiarize yourself with the process on the day you receive it.
