The flag etiquette class, hosted by members of the Women Marines Association, will teach Girl Scouts how to properly respect, handle, fold, and participate in ceremonies involving the American flag. Through fun, hands-on activities such as flag folding and opening and closing ceremonies, Girl Scouts will learn the importance of patriotism, citizenship, teamwork, and service. The class will also share the inspiring story of the 1945 flag raising on Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima and how it became a symbol of courage and perseverance. By the end of the class, Girl Scouts will better understand that honoring the American flag is a way to show respect for the brave men and women who have served and protected the United States throughout history.

Important Information:
- All participants must be registered for the event, including all girls and adult chaperones
- Please adhere to adult/girl ratio when attending events. This can be found in Volunteer Essentials or Safety Activity Checkpoints, located on our website.
- Everyone must wear close-toed shoes.
Cancellation and Refunds:
- All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email and sent directly to customercare@citrus-gs.org by Sunday August 9th 2026.
- There will be no refunds or transfers for no-shows.
Confirmation:
- A confirmation email with final details will be emailed to you after registration closes. This confirmation will include the location address and information regarding day of program. Please look over this confirmation and familiarize yourself with the process on the day you receive it.
