CELEBRATE CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH! MYTEK LAB is offering this brand-new virtual Cybersecurity Basics badge program for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors! During this workshop, girls will be using the mytekOS application to explore, encrypt, and navigate a cybersecurity scavenger hunt!

Girls participating in this workshop will complete all requirements for their Cybersecurity – Cybersecurity Basics badge!

BEFORE THE PROGRAM: All parents/guardians will need to create a free Parent Account for MYTEK LAB. You can do this by visiting Once your Parent Account is activated, please create a free MYTEK LAB student account for the Girl Scout who is registered for this program. All girls participating in this program will need a MYTEK LAB student account so we ask that you please complete this process immediately upon registering for this program.

Program Date/Time: October 17th, 10:00am – 12:00pm ET
Program Fees: Girl Member $15 per person   
Program Level: Currently registered Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors – no tagalongs
Registration Deadline: Sunday, October 11th by 11:59 pm or when the program is full.

Girl Fee Includes: Program. While the program will cover all steps of the Cybersecurity Basics badge, the badge is not included. Badges are available for purchase at the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council shop by emailing

Important Information
  • Program will be hosted live on Zoom (be sure you have a zoom account to use to log in with).
  • The presenters from MYTEK LAB and Girl Scouts of Citrus will be sharing their screen to demonstrate the steps of the program.
  • Confirmation and login code will be sent to everyone that registered based on your email that is in MYGS.
  • Program Login will begin at 15 minutes prior to program start. Please be sure to login early in case of any technical issues; we do not want you to miss any part of the program.
  • Space is limited.
  • Participants will be muted throughout the program and unmuted when we are asking for participation. 
  •  Be sure to read the Safety Activity Checkpoint for Virtual Meetings and Events which will be in your confirmation

  • Electronic device, preferably a computer
  • It is recommended that girls have a second device to help follow along with this program (e.g. 2 screens, cell phone/tablet to watch zoom and a computer for the video game). The presentation portion of this session is recorded (girls will not be in recording) and placed in each girl’s MYTEK LAB student account following the workshop.

Make sure:
  • Girls have adult permission and supervision
  • Girls take the Internet Safety Pledge before participating in any type of Virtual Activity (the link can be found in the Safety Activity Checkpoint for Virtual Meetings or in the forms section of the Citrus Council Website at

Cancellation and Refunds
  • All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email and sent directly to
  • There will be no refunds or transfers for no-shows.
  • Refund requests received on or after October 11th will not be eligible for a refund, except in extenuating circumstances based on a case-by-case basis.

A confirmation with final details will be emailed to you by October 15th. This confirmation will include the link and information about how to join the virtual meeting on the day of the program. Please look over this confirmation and familiarize yourself with the process on the day you receive it.
