Not Your Mother's Career Fair

This is not your mother's career fair! Are you sick of traditional college and career fairs that tell you 'what you're doing wrong' and "what you should do with your life" and leave you feeling anxious about your future? Not Your Mother's Career Fair is a chance to truly learn about career fields that best fit with your personality and interests.

This event consists of two parts: Career Exploration Sessions in the morning and a College, Career and Health Expo in the afternoon. Professionals and companies will be hosting the career exploration sessions to offer insight about pursuing your career goals in different fields, including science, hospitality, technology, health, and more.

During the expo, participants will have the opportunity to have conversations with colleges and universities, as well as local companies who are offering internship and employment opportunities. Health professionals will also be in attendance at the expo to discuss how to take the best care of yourself, whether that be physically or mentally. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Guest Speakers

Girl Scouts of Citrus is excited to welcome Gabby Goodwin, CEO of GaBBY Bows, as our guest speaker for Not Your Mother's Career Fair. We are also excited to announce a special appearance from Kheris Rogers, creator of Flexin' In My Complexion!

Gabby and Rozalynn Goodwin

Rozalynn Goodwin is vice president for engagement and a lobbyist for the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA). Passionate about improving the well-being of populations through health and human services, Rozalynn serves as the primary link with many private and public sector stakeholders, including policy-makers, community and advocacy groups, insurers and employers.

She invented with her daughter Gabrielle GaBBY Bows: The Double-Face Double-Snap hair barrette. Gabrielle was named the youngest ever SC Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015, and GaBBY Bows was named the national 2016 Outstanding Diverse Business of the Year by the SCORE Foundation.

Kheris Rogers

Kheris Rogers is an 11 year old trailblazer from Los Angeles, Ca. She is most known for being the youngest designer to have their designs appear at New York Fashion Week. Kheris' clothing line is called “Flexin’ In My Complexion” and was created to empower others to love the skin that they are in. She began this clothing line because she was being bullied for her dark complexion and wanted to somehow turn a negative into a positive. Think of her clothing line as a stylish self esteem lesson. Since launching her clothing line and campaign, Kheris has appeared on the talk show Steve, Pickler & Ben, American Girl Magazine, and Nike ads worldwide.
