Outdoor Skills II

Program Description:

This is the second step to prepare the adult volunteer to plan a troop camping experience sleeping in platform or ground tents in an established camp site. This course teaches a variety of outdoor skills including knot tying, jackknife safety and tent care.

Various methods of outdoor cooking are included. You will also experience a Girl Scout campfire program and a flag retirement ceremony. This course is required for troops desiring to use platform or ground tents while camping in an established camp site.

Prerequisites: Must have an active membership with Girl Scouts, complete a Volunteer Application/Consent Form, have completed Outdoor Skills I, and have a favorable background check prior to training.
