mission fund drive

Today’s children are our future. Our goal is to be positive role models that help girls become a group of committed individuals who will make a difference in the world. In order to do this, we must challenge their minds and imaginations while giving them the tools they need to cope with challenges of drug and child abuse, teen pregnancy, family crises and teen suicide. Girl Scouting provides the opportunity for girls to develop these essential tools to cope with challenges while achieving the best possible outcome in their future.

Did you know Girl Scouts in Central Florida contributed more than 50,000 hours of community service last year? Girl Scouting gives girls the leadership skills, confidence and character to change the world! We thank our members and volunteers for their countless volunteer hours and hard work while supporting the nearly 17,000 girls we serve.

It’s no wonder that 64% of the woman leaders were Girl Scouts. The Juvenile Justice Department named Girl Scouts as one of the few preventive programs that keep girls from entering or returning to the juvenile justice system. In a time when girls between ages 15 and 19 account for 41.8% of all Florida births, 23% of ninth graders consume alcohol or engage in binge drinking and 15% of young women have substantial eating disorders, girls need Girl Scouts more than ever!

Our Annual Mission Drive helps us raise money to ensure every girl we serve is able to participate in the programs we offer while learning the power of girls working together. Fact is, when something works well, it deserves to grow. We hope you will join us and contribute a gift to empower the future women leaders of America.
