Outdoor Skills - Tent Camping
Do your girls want to go camping and have the option of sleeping in a tent or at a structured building? Then the Outdoor Skills – Tent Camping training is for you! This session is geared towards the Troops/Groups that want to experience sleeping in a tent or a structured building while camping at an established campsite. This is an overnight training session which will prepare the adult volunteer for this type of camping by teaching outdoor progression, kaper charts, meal planning, different outdoor cooking methods, camping equipment and equipment care, packing, fire building, campfire program ideas, knot tying and jackknife safety. This training is required for Troops/Groups desiring to stay in tents while camping at an established camp site. This training starts at 9:00 am on Saturday and ends at 5:00 pm on Sunday. Participants must attend the entire time to be qualified.
Prerequisite: Girl Scout Membership, Eligible Background Check and Girl Scouting 101
