Volunteer Events

The history of Girl Scouting includes being girl-led and volunteer-supported. Our busy volunteers make time to come together, celebrate, learn, and always improve their leadership practices to provide the best possible experience for girls.

These annual events are part of the Girl Scout tradition at Citrus Council, but also take a look at the Citrus Program Calendar for a complete list of activities available to both girls and adults.

All adult members and Girl Scouts age 14 and up are welcome to attend the GSCC Annual Business Meeting.  In attendance are;  Association Delegates/Alternates, Board of Directors and Board Development Committee members, nominees for the Board, board Development Committee and National Delegates.  In order to conduct business, a quorum must be reached.

GSCC Annual business Meeting Event is held each year the last Saturday in January and rotates to each of our six counties.

When volunteers in Girl Scouting serves with unusual distinction, special thanks is appropriate.  Recognizing efforts with a formal award is a tangible way to acknowledge unique and outstanding service.

Volunteer Recognitions Event is held each year the last Saturday in January and rotates to each of our six counties.   This year’s event will be in Volusia County, save the date for Saturday, January 25, 2014.

The Alumnae Reunion Weekend is for adults that have been a Girl Scout previously, former staff members or a currently a registered adult that would you like to recapture the fun, the memories from earlier  years and have new Girl Scout experiences? Then join us to renew past friendships and make new ones while enjoying workshops, camp activities, singing around the campfire and s’mores. During the weekend we will also take time to do some service projects around camp.

The Volunteer Retreat Weekend is a weekend of fun, fellowship, learning new skills and making new friends.  You will have the opportunity to enjoy fabulous seminars and workshops while also getting the chance to network with volunteers from all over.

Any volunteer with Girl Scouts is welcome to attend this annual event which is held at our beautiful 250 acres camp ground called Mah-Kah-Wee Program Center located in Chuluota.

Girl Scouting wouldn’t happen if it weren’t for dedicated volunteers.  Some volunteers chose to take on administrative roles in their service area.  Those volunteers are called the service unit team members.  The Service Team Conference is where service unit team members received their position training and/or attend other enrichment workshops.  This conference is an annual event scheduled for the first Saturday in August.  Registration information will be posted once it is available.
