Resident Camp Opportunities

Mah-Kah-Wee Program Center

Bikes, Boards and Blades -- It doesn't matter if you prefer two wheels or four; you'll get to try them both!  You'll rest your feet as you peddle around camp to get to your activities!  You'll travel from camp to a skate park to learn and try some skate boarding basics and try out your inline skates.  You'll learn all about safety, hand signals, how to repair your bike and have an opportunity to teach your knowledge to younger girls as you earn the Rolling Along Interest Project award.  (Campers must bring their own bike and bike helmet; inline skates/skateboard (optional) -- helmets, pads and skate boards will be provided by the skate park; inline skates will not be provided.)

Who:  Ages 11-13
When:  June 15-20, Session 1

Hold Your Horses -- Back by popular demand!  Horseback riding for older girls!  You will travel to Devonwood Farms to ride and earn the Horse Sense Interest Project award.  Your stable visit will be two hours each day spent grooming and earning your interest project.  When not on horseback, enjoy all your favorite camp activities!

Who:  Ages 11-13
When:  June 22-27, Session 2
Cost:  $400


Daredevils -- Come explore a week of adventure challenge activities!  Spend at least two hours a day doing ground initiatives, low ropes or high ropes activities.  You'll learn to stretch, participate in an obstacle course, and identify, care for and select good equipment.  You will complete the 24-hour challenge and when you're not on the course pushing yourself to the limit, you can relax and enjoy campfires, crafts, and other camp activities.

Who:  Ages 11-13
When:  July 6-11, Session 3
Cost:  $300


"You Can't Do That at Camp!?!?!?" -- For all of you experienced campers who think ou have done it all!  This is the camp for you.  You know all of the rules, but how many of you have ever stepped over them?  This camp offers a fun, safe time to discover the thrill of pranking, raiding the kitchen and other things that you thought you could never do, all in a safe environment with your fun-loving counselors.

Who:  Ages 11-13
When:  July 13-18 and July 20-25, Sessions 4 and 5
Session 4 is FULL.
Cost:  $300


CANCELED Pirate Adventure -- Ahoy and avast mateys!  Join us for an adventure trip to other isles in search of buried treasure.  Learn to use geo-cache equipment for your search.  Try your hand at swashbuckling in a real fencing class.  Learn the history of pirates and even enjoy a trip to a real live pirate dinner show!

Who:  Ages 11-13
When:  July 20-25, Session 5
Cost:  $400


H20-a-Go-Go! -- If you love to make a splash and stay cool, this camp is for you!  Spend your days in a boat, swimming, planning a water carnival, playing dodge sponge and even have lunch in a canoe!  Learn about water safety and how to assist people in the water without getting wet yourself.  Even travel to Blizzard Beach for a day of fun!  When you are not on the water earning an Interest Project, enjoy other great camp activities!

When:  July 27-Aug. 1, Session 6
Cost:  $365


Survivorwoman -- Enjoy a week of learning the details about the great outdoors.  Spend time learning valuable skills such as knots, lashing, outdoor and novelty food preparation, shelter building and fire building.  Now, take these skills and pack out to the beautiful primitive site at MKW.  Go somewhere where others rarely do and take pride in your ability to fend for yourself outdoors!

Who:  Ages 13-15
When:  June 15-20, Session 1
Cost:  $300


Defy the Ordinary -- Why does life seem so hard sometimes?  Join us for an inspiring week-long journey of self-discovery full of activities that will help you get to know yourself better and develop your personal leadership style.  We'll tackle the tough issues including stereotypes, relationships, dating, body image, and more, and take a closer look at what you can do to take action...and take on the world!

Who:  Ages 13-15
When:  July 13-18, Session 4
Cost:  $325
