7:00 pm Snooze at the Zoo

A special overnight adventure awaits you!  “Snooze at the Zoo” offers you the opportunity to spend the night indoors in the Discovery Center.  A close-up nocturnal animal encounter is followed by a flashlight tour of the zoo.  Before crawling into your sleeping bag, you will enjoy a bedtime snack and a movie!  Before you know it, you’ll awaken to the early morning sounds of the zoo.  After a continental breakfast, you will head back into the zoo to be the first people to greet the animals.  Groups do NOT need a qualified BTC person with them.

9:00 am Cycles of Water (program)

Girls will have the opportunity to learn about the different cycles of water, how we can benefit from them, and how water can be the cause of major disasters. Some of the activities will include: making/decorating rain barrels for public buildings, canoeing, an airboat ride, Jungle Boat cruise to Makinson, and trash clean up, minute demonstrations / presentations regarding drinking water, conservation, surface water and how water can turn against us at times.

Come on out for a day of fun and adventure at our beautiful Merrit Island location. Spend the day with your special guy sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, shooting Archery and more! Explore the beautiful trails and natural environment on this amazing yet undiscovered property. Everyone must be able to swim and not have a fear of the water; activities will take place on Sykes Creek and the Banana River.

Ever wonder what happens at the zoo after the lights go out?  Here’s your chance to find out! Spend a wild night at the Central Florida Zoo with a special overnight adventure for Girl Scouts. Just bring your camping supplies and the Zoo will supply the fun and WILD animals! The evening program consists of an Animal Encounter and a twilight tour of the nocturnal animals at the zoo. Then, it’s off to your campsite. In the morning, wake to the sounds of the zoo, enjoy a continental breakfast, and experience a special morning adventure, even before many zookeepers arrive! Groups must have a qualified Level I person with them. Groups taking part in campfire activities must have a first aider present.

10:00 am Girl Scout Earth Day (event)

Come enjoy Earth Day at Old Town! We will be looking at all the wonderful ways to save our planet. We will have fun activities like making items from recycled goods, planting seeds in recycled materials, and learn about invasive plants. Girls will participate in an Earth Day Parade. Come check out Girl Scout Earth Day art work on display. There will also be tons of giveaways!
