Funding the Organization

Girl Scouts of Citrus Council  has always looked to the "small group of thoughtful, committed citizens" to help us to be our best. Through their help we are able to reach the more than 17,000 girls in east Central Florida who benefit from being in Girl Scouting.

The children of today are our future. It is our goal to be positive role models to help these girls become that group of committed individuals who will make a difference in the world. We must continue to challenge their minds and imaginations. We are responsible for giving them the tools to cope with the challenges of drug abuse, child abuse, teen pregnancy, family crises and teen suicide. Girl Scouting provides the opportunity for girls to develop these essential tools to cope with challenges and to achieve their best.

Girl Scouts of Citrus Council  is a private non-profit organization. The council's $4.3 million operating budget is funded by individuals, foundations, local businesses, program income from product sales, program fees and United Ways.  In 2006 GSCC Board of Directors initiated the Volunteer designated money policy.pdf  Below is the 2007 revenue and public support and functional expenses for Jan. 1 - Sept. 30, 2007.
