Below is a brief description of those properties. For guidelines to make a reservation on one of these properties, click here.
Mah-Kah-Wee Program Center is a 250 acre site located near
Chuluota. Purchased in 1970, Mah-Kah-Wee which means Earth Maiden, received its name as a result of a troop contest. It was officially dedicated on March 7, 1971. MKW serves over 4,000 girls and adults every year.
MKW has both platform tests and cabins for girls and adults to use. There are three camp units on the East side of the lake and three on the West side. One of the units, Skeeter Hollow, is wheelchair accessible.
Archery, boating, canoeing, stargazing, geocaching, sports and environmental exercises are only a few of the activities can enjoy during their stay at camp. MKW also has a challenge course where girls and adults can test their endurance on low-and high-ropes activities.
The Celia Lane Little House has been home to Girl Scouts of Citrus Council since 1940. Located near downtown Orlando, Celia Lane hosts troop camping overnights as well as summer day camp opportunities.
Located between Sykes Creek and the Banana River on Merritt Island is Riverpoint Program Center. This 24-acre site is unique because it houses the Alford Lodge that was built before 1880. It was renovated by Citrus Council in 1976. The lodge is two stories with a large activity room on the ground floor and sleeping quarters, bathrooms and showers on the second floor.
Troops may salt water fish off the dock that extends out onto the Banana River. Small watercraft opportunities, such as canoeing, windsurfing and sailing, are available as well. Hiking trails are located along Sykes Creek where people can view a variety of birds such as pelicans, herons, gulls and owls. There are also environmental activities as well.
Melbourne Scout House was donated to Citrus Council in 1940. Major rennovations were made in 2006 which added to the security and comfort of the facility. The Melbourne Scout House is available for troop camping and meetings year-round.
Girls can fish off the park's pier. There are also environmental activities that they can do while on the property.
The Council Service Center is located near Downtown Orlando. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The Service Center is closed on Friday. The Council Shop is located on the ground floor while administrative offices are on the second and third floors. For more information about the Council Shop, click on the GSCC Retail Shop tab on the left.
Also located on the Council Service Center property is Juliette's Place. Juliette’s Place is the home of the historical collection of Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, and is housed in the first floor of the two-story house next to the covered parking. Program activities are provided for small groups of girls by the Archive Team volunteers and staff at a fee of $2 per person. The volunteers will work with you to tailor the activity to the age and interest of your troop. In this unique setting girls learn about the legacy Juliette Low left to the girls of the United States and the entire world. If you would like to sign your troop up for to participate in a Juliette's Place activity, please fill out the Juliette's Place Reservation form. If your troop isn't able to visit Juliette's Place, you can still educate your girls about Juliette Low and the history of Girl Scouts by checking out Juliette's Legacy Trunk.
Citrus Council also has a satellite center in South Daytona in Volusia County. Troops hold their meetings here and training sessions are held there as well.
