Girl Scouts in Action

Girl Scouts from Girl Scouts of Citrus Council's six county area are featured in the media (newspaper, TV and radio) frequently. Some of our Girl Scouts have been helping others in their community.  In either case, our Girl Scouts are in ACTION!  

LeAnne Ball, a student in Maitland has been accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum. Ball will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C., September 8 -14, 2008 to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States' most prominent monuments and institutions.  For more information: People to People press release.pdf 


Junior Girl Scout Troop 1691 in Harbour City Service Unit was featured in the September 2007 issue of Needle Arts as a part of its Girl Scout Bronze Award project. To read about the troop's accomplishments, click here for the article.  It was written by Ms. Barbara Gill, Indian River Chapter President of the Embroiders' Guild of America.  Troop leader is Kathleen Lee.

The troop also had five portraits created by Kristen Brenner, Sarah Johnson, Morgan Kaplan, Bridget Lee, and Nicole Rivera-Wynter that were displayed at the Embroiderers’ Guild of America 2007 youth exhibit at the Embroidery Museum and Resource Center in Louisville, KY.  You can view those portraits at http://www.egausa.org/html/youth.html in the Youth Exhibit 2007 section.
