Alumnae Association
Welcome to Girl Scouts of Citrus Council Alumnae Association
The Girl Scouts of Citrus Council Alumnae Association was founded in 2006 as part of our 50th anniversary celebration. We invite you to reconnect with us and become a member of the Alumnae Association.
The Alumnae Association was founded to promote the Girl Scout network and bring together women of all ages, backgrounds and Girl Scout experiences. Membership in the Alumnae Association is open to all adults currently involved in Girl Scouting as well as all former Girl Scout members. Adult friends of Girl Scouting who believe in the potential of all girls are also encouraged to become members.
The main purpose of the Alumnae Association is to support the mission of Citrus Council by providing role models, volunteers, and financial support while extending the spirit of Girl Scouting to adults through professional, educational, service and social events. Girl Scouting was founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. To date, the organization has provided some 50 million girls with confidence, leadership skills, fun and lifetime friendships. Girl Scouting has grown to 3.7 million members today, making it the world's largest voluntary organization for girls.
For hundreds of years, lighthouses have provided guidance and direction.
Like the lighthouse, our Alumnae have guided the way for our council for more than 50 years. Alumnae have been a beacon of help and hope and have assisted us as we have gone from one adventure to the next.
Like the lighthouse, the beaming support of our Alumnae shines on everyone they meet, lighting the path to achievement and success, for all the girls of Citrus Council.
About Girl Scouts of Citrus Council
Girl Scouts of Citrus Council was chartered in 1956 and serves more than 18,000 girls and has more than 8,000 adult volunteers. We currently serve the counties of Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia in Central Florida. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. We are helping girls achieve this goal by implementing the new Leadership Program Model.
Girl Scouting was founded 98 years ago on March 12, 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low when she made her historic phone call to her niece announcing that she had something for the girls of Savannah and all the world. To date, the organization has provided some 50 million girls with confidence, leadership skills, fun and lifetime friendships. Girl Scouting has grown to 3.7 million members today, making it the world's largest voluntary organization for girls.
